If you’re not looking for the special edition version that I posted recently (it seems to come in a nice, silk hardcover), the New York Botanical Garden has also released a non-special-edition, cheaper version of Ed Merrin’s book on flower arrangements: Perfection of the Finite.
I read on Ed’s blog, that all proceeds from the sale of this book go to the New York Botanical Garden itself — a sort of charity located in the heart of New York. I’ve been to some of their events in my time, and they’ve been exceptional!
Here’s the special edition version of Ed Merrin’s book, in case you’re wondering what it looks like:

The new book, “Perfection of the Finite”, on flower arrangements by none other than Ed Merrin has hit bookstores. Or, at least in this case, the New York Botanical Garden’s bookstore.
Ed Merrin has been a long-time philanthropist, but also — together with his wife, Vivian, they’ve been avid gardeners and florists.
I haven’t had a chance to get my hands on the book yet, but when I do — I will post a full review. Looking at the NYBG’s website, the images they’ve selected out of the book look fabulous — photos of Ed Merrin’s works were taken by Ismael Ramirez, an artist in his own right.
Here’s something to look forward to when the book begins appearing in bookstores near you (Barnes & Noble, I presume?):
Let me know what you think. And if you’ve bought the book, post even just a short review here — I’m interested to hear. That is all, for now.
An avid philanthropist, Ed Merrin also devotes a lot of his time on flower arrangements and garden design. “The New York Botanic Gardens is publishing a book on the arrangement of flowers by Ed Merrin with photos by Ismael Ramirez. This volume will be the start of a series of publications. It will be available in August 2011, to hit book stores for the full run for the Christmas season 2011.”
